“50 Not Out” For Ian

The October meeting was a special night for W. Bro Ian Greenwood who celebrated 50 Years as Freemason. Initiated into Pennine Valley Lodge (now Marsden within Pennine Valley 6183), Ian has had a distinguished career including a successful spell as Preston Group Chairman and receiving the honour of Past Junior Deacon of the United Grand Lodge of England.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master provided the Lodge, which was swollen with guests, to a full history of the man, and the Mason, including the moment he caught out the great Clive Lloyd in his cricketing days.

The brethren of PGL were graced with the presence of members of Marsden with Pennine Valley, who read out the minutes of Ian’s initiation. This visit was reciprocated by the W.M and his son to celebrate all over again in East Lancashire.
