PRESTON GUILD LODGE DEBUT AT UNIVERSITIES SCHEME CONFERENCE

23rd September 2024 Off By jp

It is now some 18 months since Preston Guild Lodge No 4408 was admitted into the UGLE Universities Scheme. And what a time that has been. We have initiated three excellent candidates who have brought a new dimension and vigour to the Lodge. We raise our first student next month on the 20th May.

Our DC, David Parker, represented the Lodge at the Conference which was held at the Berkshire Masonic Centre in Sindlesham.

On the night before the conference, the Berkshire Lodge of Enlightenment No 9946 performed a magnificent quadruple passing with the Assistant Grand Master, Steven Varley as the guest of honour. David bumped into John Stanley, who is West Lancashire’s Provincial Universities Scheme Officer and Lee Fisher of fellow Universities Scheme Lodge, City of Lancaster at the meeting. A fine festive board followed. The next day the conference room was full and buzzing. A wide variety of presentations were on offer giving a sound insight into the progress of the scheme. A highlight was the launch of the University Society Support Network. As PGL look to help students to create Masonic Society at UCLAN, this network will be invaluable.
