PRESTON GUILD LODGE CHRISTMAS DINNER – MAYOR OF PRESTON THE GUEST OF HONOUR

23rd September 2024 Off By jp

Over 60 members, family and friends gathered together at Preston Masonic Hall for the Preston Guild Lodge Christmas Dinner. Guest of honour at the Dinner was the Mayor of Preston Councillor Yakub Patel.

Before the Dinner, The Mayor enjoyed a tour of the Masonic Meeting Rooms. The Lodge was to have a short meeting before the dinner. As a result, he was able to meet not only the Master of the Lodge, David Gregson but the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Peter Lockett and the Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, Paul Hesketh.

Throughout the dinner, guests were entertained by a challenging Christmas Quiz. Well, the Lodge is a Universities Scheme Lodge and the winners scored 28 out of 32! Education as well as entertainment…

Father Christmas made a brief pre-Christmas appearance in the Ballroom. He left everyone a little early present of some chocolates, as if we had not eaten enough. Then before he rushed back to the North Pole, he wished everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Before departing, the Mayor addressed the members and guests. He thanked Preston Guild Lodge for all the charitable work they had done over the year and the way the lodge supported the local community. He said that the lodge was an important and valued member of the Preston Community and wished that would continue in the future.

With a rousing chorus of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” the night came to a happy ending.
