SUPPORTING RIDE2SUCCESS
Ride2Success is an amazing Preston based charity with three very important aims
To promote the provision of horse riding facilities in the interest of social welfare for young and disabled beneficiaries in Preston and the surrounding areas.
To act as a resource for young people up to the age of 25 by providing advice and assistance.
To organise programmes and activities centred on physical and educational development as a means of helping young people to become mature, independent members of society.
Ride2Success work with local equestrian centres to provide access to horse riding for young disadvantaged and disabled people. It is quite a joy to see how much these incredible young people enjoy these sessions.
In addition to horse riding sessions Ride2Success deliver a Sport for All programme. The best thing about sports is that the majority of events require group participation. This means youngsters engage with others and build a rapport. Many disadvantaged or disabled young people sadly don’t get this chance in ordinary sporting events, which often remain inaccessible. Sport for All breaks down these barriers.
Preston Guild Lodge have been delighted to support this great organisation. Master of the Lodge Noel Colley, accompanied by the Lodges Charity Steward and Past Master, Barry Wright and David Parker Junior, presented a cheque for £1000 to Ride2Success. It was a joy to see how much the members enjoyed their lesson.
