STEVES SENSATIONAL JUBILEE

29th March 2026 Off By jp

The Lodge Room at Preston Masonic Hall was buzzing in anticipation of celebrating one of Preston’s much loved Brothers as he reached that wonderful milestone of 50 years in Freemasonry. A glittering array of Grand and Provincial Grand Officers also assembled to mark this wonderful occasion.

Steve Croasdale was initiated into Freemasonry on the 3rd March 1976 at what was only the 16th Meeting of The Ingol Lodge of St Margaret No 8544. Introduced into Freemasonry by his Father in Law, Steve has never looked back.

The Jubilee Celebration was presided over by our own Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Jonathan Heaton, whist his predecessor, Peter Lockett was also in attendance. The celebration rapidly evolved into a This is Your Life double Act. Jonanthan gave a wonderful historical background to Steve’s family and the  Steve himself filled in some of the gaps with his own recollections. It made for a great evening and everyone learned more about Steve the man as well as Steve the Mason.

Steve is so well known to Masons of all codes due to being in many orders himself but not least because he now works with his good lady wife, Denise, at DMC Regalia. No-one leaves the shop without a long friendly chat.

Sadly, Ingol Lodge of St Margaret surrendered its warrant not long before its own 50th Anniversary. Steve, along with the majority of members became joining members of Preston Guild Lodge. Steve along with other former Ingol members have really embraced their new lodge. With typical commitment and enthusiasm, Steve will be taking up the Mastership of Preston Guild in November this year. After the celebration in the Lodge Room, everyone retired to a wonderful festive board. Paul McKernan, a very old and dear friend to Steve proposed a Toast to him, and didn’t embarrass him to much… Steve then recounted the many enjoyable years he has had and how much he was looking forward to his masonic future
