In an era of computer games and social media it really is refreshing to see admirable young people getting out of the house and learning new skills. And that is precisely what the youngsters at Preston Sea Cadets do.

At Preston Sea Cadets, based at TS Galloway on Strand Road in Preston, the aim is to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures, they learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of ourselves.

Preston Sea Cadets offer a range of different activities from sailing, windsurfing and powerboating – to rock climbing, camping, and music – plus, so much more! Cadets are also able to gain different qualifications that they can take with them once they leave Sea Cadets! The priority to make sure that Sea Cadets is a safe environment young people can go to, to be themselves. Preston Sea Cadets are supported by a number of very experienced volunteers.

Preston Guild Lodge have been delighted to present a donation to the Preston Sea Cadets of £1000. The need for all sorts of equipment, renewals and essential maintenance is always there. So the Lodge hopes that this donation is a huge help to them

The Master of the Lodge, Noel Colley, presented the cheque to Senior Abel Cadet Nuttall under the watchful eye of Colour Sergeant Dowd. Noel was assisted by the Lodge’s Charity Steward, who many years ago was a Sea Cadet in Preston and Ex Royal Navy member, Cliff Jones.
