A GROWING LODGE
This week we welcomed two new Members into Preston Guild Lodge No 4408 in a Double First Degree Ceremony.
James Walker is the Great Nephew of the lodges Charity Steward, Paul McKernan. He had had an interest in Freemasonry for some time as he is very close to his Great Uncle. As a Quantity Surveyor he will be interested in our building techniques.
Last year, one of our Student Members, Dean Cook, was interviewed by the local press who had taken an interests in the Universities Scheme. One of Dean’s friends, Craig Freeman, saw this and it sparked his interest in becoming a Freemason. Craig is a Technical Consultant by profession.
With both new members being in the 20’s we are doing a great job of bringing the average age of the lodge down!
The lodge’s well worked out Doubles process meant that a dignified and very personal ceremony was enjoyed by James and Craig. On this occasion Steve Croasdale gave the Master most of the night off while he performed the ceremony. Steve was supported by a great team sharing the work.
After the ceremony, over 40 attendees sat down to enjoy fish and chips at the same time Toasting our New Made Brothers.
