David leads the way for the Preston Masters Walk
Our Worshipful Master, David Parker, was appointed as the Chair for the 2019 Preston Masters Group. This brings together all of the Masters of the Craft Lodges in Preston. In addition to bringing the Lodges closer together by organising a variety of Social Events, the Masters look to raise money for charity. This year, the 2019 Masters decided to work for the benefit of local community charitable causes.
One of the key fundraisers is the Annual Preston Masters Walk. This year David, assisted by his good lady Jane, took charge of planning the walk. They carefully selected an interesting, yet not too challenging walk in the Ribble Valley. So on a very pleasant Sunday morning on the 9th June, the Masters, together with family, friends and dogs convened for a Bacon Roll and hot drink at The Spread Eagle Inn in Sawley. Fully charged, the group enjoyed a lovely walk taking in the banks of the Ribble and some excellent Lancashire scenery. After five and a half miles, the group returned back to the pub where an well deserved lunch was enjoyed.
The proceeds of the walk raised £970 which will be applied to local charities at the end of the year.
