Bill Celebrates 50 Years

21st January 2020 Off By guildlodge

The Lodge Christmas Party had an extra celebration this year. W Bro Bill Hawkins reached that superb milestone of 50 years in Freemasonry and the Lodge was delighted to mark the occasion on this special night. More importantly we were also able to celebrate Bill’s 90th birthday on the night

Although originally from the North West, work took Bill to Devon. He was initiated into The Lodge of Integrity No 4098 at Plymouth in November 1969. Bills work returned him to the North West in 1975 when he became a Joining Member of Commercial Travellers Lodge No 3493 in December of that year. When CT amalgamated with Preston Guild Lodge in 2004 Bill continued his Masonry with us and has been the Chaplain of the Lodge since then.

Bill was presented with a Certificate to commemorate his achievement by our Group Chairman, W Bro Steve Bolton. He was then presented with a number of mementos from the Lodge to mark the occasion by our Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Dave Winder. As an active a keen golfer, Bill particularly appreciated the inscribed golf statuette.
